How can I make a number 2 position working unit with a set of 3:23 ring and pinion?

I baught a unit of position today was new in the box, I buaght www.craigslist.com off a local person told me that the unit was a number 3, but I doubt that the ring and pinion of my stock v6 Camaro 1996 is 3:23 and the bearing is too thick plz help

Series 2 companies are 3.08 and are numerically lower. They require the proper gear, thickness is different! So a series of 3 gears not work on a series 2 carrier or vice versa. That you have found! Now the team will have to get unit suitable for the position you just bought. Or get one for his series of 3 gears and sell the Series 2 unit you just bought. Good Luck
