Garmin Gps / sonar combo internal or external antenna, dual or single frequency?

I want to buy a new GPS / Sonar for my new boat. Does anyone have one with an internal antenna? I wonder if you ever lose the signal. What is the difference between the single and dual frequency? This is the model I'm looking for in buying, Eagle 642C DF iGPS SeaCharter but I'm interested in new Lowrance HDS models too. Any information would be appreciated.

Interior will be fine if the unit is mounted outside the cab (I'm not a sailor so I do not know if that is the correct term). If your mounted "inside" then you should go with the external antenna. Single vs. dual-frequency GPS in terms L1 ago and can not only track (ie, frequency only) or L1 and L2 (ie, double freq). In general, the dual-frequency GPS receivers in a specific [high] use (or military engineering). Its probably not getting the customer to nothing. However, looking at the road specifications for this model (http://www.eaglenav.com/en/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotters/SeaCharter-642C-DF-iGPS/), I think the double freq refers to non-sonar, GPS. (I have no knowledge of the sonar, but I suspect this means that the sound works on 2 frequencies for better accuracy)
