Down Tower
The Eiffel Tower has become an icon of France and is known worldwide for its daring and unusual structure.
This Paris landmark was named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel and built between 1887 and 1889, and was built as the entrance arch for the Exposition Universelle, which was a fair World marking the centennial celebration of the French Revolution, the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on 31 March 1889, and opened on 6 May 1889.
With 200,000,000 people visited the Eiffel Tower since its construction, makes this monument the most visited paid monument per year and is the tallest monument the world until 1930 and still the highest in Paris, the Eiffel Tower has seen some important developments in their time.
But when the Eiffel Tower was built, met with resistance, because the public felt it was an eyesore, despite Paris's people today do not want to have any, and which is widely regarded as a striking piece of structural art!
People were also surprised by how bold, challenging Gustave Eiffel wondered if it was really a good engineer, but he and his engineers renowned bridge builders, returned with comments indicating that it was based on mathematical calculations used by the resistance wind.
And as the 24m antenna, the Eiffel Tower is 324m tall, weighs 7,300 tons and can affect 6 to 7 cm in the wind and due to thermal expansion metal on the side facing the sun, depending on the temperature, the top of the tower can get away from the sun to 18cm.
Due to the fact only the Gustave Eiffel took a leave from the Eiffel Tower to stand for 20 years, moving to the city, the Eiffel Tower was to be dropped in 20 years, but because he became valuable as communications resources, was allowed to remain in place even after the permit had expired.
And due to the Eiffel Tower was originally conceived as a structure temporary, which now has to be painted every 7 years, only to end this famous monument of rust!
There are three levels and in all the steps and start to the south tower, but both the first and second levels are accessible by stairs and elevators. However, the third level summit is only accessible by lift. In the first platform, the stairs are still above the east tower.
Taking action is not for the feint of heart, as the actual count of stairs includes 9 steps the ticket office at the base of the Eiffel Tower, 328 steps to the first level, 340 steps to the second level, and 18 steps to the lift platform on the second level. And when leaving the elevator on the third level, there are another 15 steps to ascend to the upper observation platform. Whether you think this a good idea or not, the actual step count regularly is printed on the side of the stairs to give an indication of their progress and there are a total of 710 steps!
At least, you can always dine at the restaurant for breath before returning to the bottom, or if they are stronger then you could go ice skating, which was held at the Eiffel Tower every winter since 2004!
And while most people have the idea that the Eiffel Tower visible from almost anywhere in Paris, this is not really the case and there are only a few of the buildings highest you can get a clear view of the tower.
Even if people had not heard of the Eiffel Tower before, if you like James Bond movies, then they were sure to hear from him after the 1985 movie A View to a Kill as James Bond pursues the Day played by actress Grace Jones at the Eiffel Tower, who parachuted from the tower. His video of the film also includes several scenes of the pop band Duran Duran in stages in the tower too.
On New Year's Eve 2000 for the Millennium celebrations, the Eiffel Tower played an important role in Paris, as he had fireworks that exploded the entire length of the tower in a spectacular show.
So if you have not had the opportunity to visit the Eiffel Tower, then it's worth the effort, as the points of view on Paris, as you are taking up breath and vision will not forget.
